The Nene Nest
How do I even begin to tell you how much we loved our stay at the Nene Nest? This sweet banana colored cottage in Kekaha is truly what Kaua’i vacation dreams are made of. And after a year and a half of not leaving the island (because #2020), a staycation on the west side was exactly what the doctor ordered!!
We’ve been following the @thenenenest.kauai for quite some time now so when Melissa reached out about collaborating, we were allllll about it!! Sam and I packed up and drove west to our sweet little home away from home for the weekend.
The first thing that made us stop in our tracks was the property. Only 152 steps from the beach, it sits back from the main road and is completely secluded — surrounded by a white picket fence, beautiful flowerers, and a couple of banana trees!! A seriously stunning private oasis. I wanted to lay out on the law chairs all day long.
But we absolutely ADORED the house! Melissa and her family has made the Nene Nest truly one-of-a-kind. Each room is so beautifully decorated and we loved the thoughtful touches — cute throw pillows, a fun monogrammed beach basket, a sweet note with coffee to greet you, etc. They’ve thought of it all! We so enjoyed walking to the beach at sunrise with our coffee, cooking breakfast in the full kitchen, showering off after the beach in the outdoor shower (that runs cold AND warm — game changer), and lounging on the lanai with a glass of wine in the evening. It was truly special. Thank you so much for hosting us Melissa! We already can’t wait to come back!
